Etsy download digital file

Automatic Message: Lastly add a thank you message on your digital file section. After the buyer purchases from your shop, the message will appear on Etsy on the purchases and reviews section and they will also receive an email notification. I personally use the automated message to thank them for their business, I give instructions on how to download their digital files and request a review from them.

I hope this Etsy tutorial comes in handy to selling digital downloads. Make sure to subscribe to my blog to receive delightful emails on Etsy tutorials and how to build a thriving business! Leave any comments or questions you may have below! Selling digital downloads is really tough. But it will be possible if you can follow procedure. Thank you so much for this nice article. Best wishes for the next post. This is the perfect site for anybody who wants to understand this topic. You realize so much its almost tough to argue with you not that I really would want to…HaHa.

Great stuff, just excellent! Rabindranath Tagore Poems in Hindi. There is no search feature in Etsy for just digital products so you can front load some success by picking a category that is part of the top level searches. This is a really good way to make money. I never use Etsy and today learned something new. Thank you for sharing this. Hi, Thanks for sharing this blog with us, your blog contains very important information for us, I appreciate your work and effort.

I will be more than happy to explain how it works with Dropbox. You go to dropbox, upload the digital good, when the file has uploaded, create a link, and then share the link with the buyer. The buyer will click on the link and it takes them to a screen to download the file. Hi Nancy! My problem is that Etsy is not accepting my Dropbox link. I must be leaving out a step? I have a page planner that I am trying to get uploaded.

I get some sort of an error message that it has to be so many characters. Hoping you can help with this, thank you! You would need to include a document in JPG format that has the link on it for people to copy and paste.

I hope this helps. Thank you for this article. I want to sell my art work on Etsy, and offer the digital download. My jpegs, which are just one unknown size, have been printed at several vendors in multiple sizes. Sometimes I need to adjust the placement to get the whole piece in, and sometimes I just give up and take what I can get.

I hope I am making sense and not rambling. Is there an app that you use? I currently use Adobe Photoshop to create and size my digital prints. In order to secure that your print will not get cutoff is making sure you are sizing it correctly. I am proficient with sizing images for print, but it is tedious to resize each and every digital image in my shop.

Time is money, as they say. Your blog was helpful. Good job. Nancy, I love that you are focused on women entrepreneurs! We have the mindset and I am so grateful for you sharing the skills. Thank you for a great blog. I am looking forward to starting a business on Etsy selling my artwork via digital downloads. I appreciate all the great advice and look forward to reading more.

I am glad that you enjoyed the post and find it useful. Thank you so much for the comment and good luck. I am about to publish my listings of printable art on Etsy.

I have tried Keka and some archive app from app store on; none of them was able to reduce the file size significantly. Great question! Unfortunately, their is no way to add a file on Etsy that is over 20MB.

What I do is sign up for Google Dropbox, upload the file their, and create a downloadable link. I then upload a message on Etsy download section, saying use this link to download your purchase. It takes them to Google Dropbox where they can automatically download the file. This has been the alternative way to get the customer the file. Nancy, thank you for your guidance,. Or do I have to go back in once the payment is confirmed and add the link?

So the customer first would need to pay for your product. Then you would insert the link into a PDF Format where they can copy the dropbox url and paste on their web browser to have access to the download.

Brilliant article Nancy! Hey Nancy. I am totally new to Etsy and digital downloads, not too good on computers either but i am interested in selling my art but have no clue how to put my name across the front of the image to stop theft and for it not to appear on the downloaded image if it sells. You can create a mockup using Canva. You can add a watermark to your mockup.

The actual digital download will not have the watermark. Thanks for stopping by. Thank you very much for this excellent guide- just what I needed before I open my Etsy shop! TY for this article very helpful. It seems that many DD sites on etsy upload only one file that can be resized at the printers, and some, like in your article, upload individual files by size.

Here is an example of what one store says.. I am glad the article was handy. I actually think for any new listings you make you set them as one large file that they can resize in different sizes. Customers often need help and support, especially when it comes to figuring out how to download their digital file after purchase.

I had thought my follow-up email containing a polite thank you, a coupon for future purchase, and offer to help with any concerns would be a welcoming gesture of open communication.

Instead of taking her anger personally, I sent instructions on how to download, as well as a screen capture of the action required, because I knew she was obviously frustrated in not receiving her purchase immediately. Sure enough, she apologized and explained there were no instructions from Etsy.

As a seller, I should not be putting the onus on my client to research how to access their purchase. Now I include the message below in all my follow-up emails. This also helps clarify that the purchase is digital, and will not be physically shipped to them. My canned response includes a screen capture with circled areas to ensure they know where to look — a picture really is worth a thousand words.

Please help. I purchased on Etsy a pdf crochet pattern. I was logged in when I ordered it. The seller tried to send me a link through my email and I keep getting g oops something went wrong page! Please help I would like my pattern. Please reach out to Etsy or the Etsy seller directly. Thank you. Hi, please help me to purchase and download ONLY. I dont want to shipnmy order to south africa.. They ask for your shipping address just for processing the order. What should I get. A great help.

I hope my buyer finds the instructions sufficient. She is having great difficulty. Is there a time limit? Can I print any size? Can I take somewhere to print a larger one at a store, or am i limited to printing size of my personal computer? I will just have to get someone younger than 66 to help me retrieve it from phone and then print! Hope you keep till I can find some to help. Thanks for answering questions. Hi Emily, Answering your questions in order:- Yes, you can print as many pages as you like for your personal use , as many times as you like.

As far as I know the download lasts for ever for as long as Etsy keeps going! You can print any of the sizes provided A4, A5, Letter, Half-Letter, Personal Wide and Happy Planner Classic , and — if you have the skill — could resize them to fit other planners you may have. You could look on google to see how to do that, if you wish.

You are welcome to put the files onto a memory stick and take to a printer if the shop is open; here in Victoria we are on Stage 4 lockdown and our shops are shut. If you home printer has a photocopy facility, try one of each page from the shop, and photocopy the ones you feel you need more of at home. Perhaps it would be cheaper? Sure you do this — do what I do and go to good old google!

If I can ehp further, message me on Etsy. Could I use exactly what you have above and put it in my Message to digital buyers sections? Would you mind? Then rename it. Take a look at your competition and go somewhere in the middle, unless your product is far superior with added value. Then price it on the higher end and explain in the listing why it's worth it.

Don't Underprice Yourself. There's a tendency to want to underprice items, but keep in mind that it will lower your perceived value. Cover Your Fees. Make sure that even if you run a sale, your Etsy costs will be covered, and you'll still make a profit.

Sales and Coupons. Running occasional sales is a good way to boost income, but don't be the shop that is always on sale. It trains customers to wait for the sale and never pay full price. Your work is worth full price. Bundles of several products can be priced at a higher price point than a single product. Bundles offer the customer a discounted price for buying a lot of items.

Etsy takes care of distribution, but there are always customers who have trouble accessing the files, so other methods need to be considered. Guest customers tend to have the most trouble accessing their files. For bloggers, don't store these files on your blog. They take up valuable space and slow down your site. You can use any storage solution like Dropbox or OneBox.

I prefer to use a google drive. Upload the file, get the sharable link make sure the checkbox turns green and copy the link to share with the customers. For a blog, I add it in the bottom of the post with a colored box around it.

Avoid any licensing items that can get you in trouble. You're going to see ton of Disney items, but it doesn't mean it's okay. It's one thing to be inspired BY something, but avoid using characters or likenesses. Fonts and purchased graphic design elements are other things to consider. Make sure that the fonts and graphic design elements you have purchased are allowed to be used for work being sold.

Another thing to keep in mind, is that you can use the element as part of the design, but it needs to be changed. I like this article from Creative Market that clarifies ways to properly use elements. Their licensing has changed since then, but it gives you a good idea on how to use elements in a fair way to the designer.

If you have any questions, you can contact the company or person that you bought them from for clarification. When you have a digital design shop, you have the option to offer custom work as well. Custom work is not passive income, but it can be a great way to earn some extra income. Here are a few things to keep in mind. Save yourself time by writing up an FAQ on how to open and use different file types. If you have a website, host it there.

You can also add it to the listing itself. Offer instructions on how to open a zip file because there are people who don't know how to unzip files. You might be interested in learning about other places to sell digital products, besides Etsy.

I have it stated in my shop policies that I don't offer refunds on digital products, but every now and then someone will ask. It's usually because they can't figure out how to unzip a file or open it. If you're still wanting more on the exact "how-to" create digital downloads, I highly recommend this course by Tracie Fobes. It's one of the more affordable courses around, but it's packed with information on how to create products.

She even has advice on how to come up with printable ideas! You might want to try her free email course first. I've sold printables for years, but I still learned so much! The course impressed me so much that I immediately bought her course on growing an email list as well.

This lady knows her stuff! These downloads are for personal use only. Please do not redistribute or sell. Please note: this download will not work if you are trying to access it when you are logged into your school email account. Try a personal email account instead.
